I just got off the phone with Compass Bank. A few days ago I posted how they made a $500 error in MY favor and I called the branch to let them know.
Well, yesterday an unidentified $6 charge showed up, and today my account was debited with the $500.
So the lady at Compass Bank told me the $6 was for the research I ordered.
Can you believe this???????
I don't normally use "language", but I have limits. I explained to her that the branch didn't advise me that there would be a charge, and she didn't seem to care. She didn't appreciate my language.
Could somebody just shoot me and put me out of my misery?
I don't fit into this society.

They also have better manners.

I'm going to send my complaint to THEIR Federal Reserve Bank and request that they ORDER Compass Bank to refund ALL of these research charges ever assessed for research after Compass Bank errors.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who got these charges.
I just feel so incredibly stupid for telling them that they made this $500 error in my favor.
Back in 81 I lived on the Navajo rez and a few days before Xmas I made a shopping trip down to Window Rock. In the parking lot I found a wallet with several hundred dollars. I was pretty broke then. But I looked at the pics of the Navajo kids in the wallet, found some ID that enabled me to get their phone # and called them.
When the guy came by to pick up his wallet he was so happy! The cash was for their Xmas trip to relatives. It felt good to know that I did the right thing.
Many times since, *people* have reciprocated and they did the right thing when I lost my wallet or credit card. What makes banks so EVIL that they CHARGE you for giving them their money back?
I didn't expect Compass Bank to personally thank me, but I did not expect a charge.
And what happened to a 10% finders' fee?
To charge me $6 for telling them that they made a $500 error in my favor is as absurd as it gets. I am so mad at myself for telling them.

This proves that no good deed goes unpunished. These banks have no respect for consumers even though the industry makes tons of money from us. Despite the efforts of consumer interest organizations, collectively, our voice is still so small. We are the modern-day tenant farmers and the banks are the landowners that control the government.
