"...
Tripp sued the Defense Department and the U.S. government for privacy violations, including a charge that officials leaked information that she was interviewing for a job at a lower rank and salary than her old job.
Tripp also accused U.S. officials of leaking information from her security clearance.

I thought I wasn't seeing right! What about Monica?
Maybe this is just a joke.
Posted by Christine at November 3, 2003 10:22 PMAs much as I detest that woman and her entire approach to success, the Defense dept needs a knock on the nose.
Now Monica should sue her for impersonating a friend.

Too funny! Too bad the Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act doesn't apply to people.
"the Defense dept needs a knock on the nose."
Well, I would agree, but consider this:
The DOD SETTLED for CASH. Nobody got fired, reprimanded, etc. The CASH they use to pay off Tripp and her lawyers is YOUR tax money!
So who got the knock on the nose?

As always.

"MIAMI -- The federal government has agreed to pay $350,000 to settle a lawsuit by a Houston woman who says she was singled out for a strip search by Miami airport agents because she is black."
And:
"She said she was held for 10 hours and denied an attorney while she was patted down, strip searched and taken to a hospital for X-rays. No drugs were uncovered on her or in her luggage."
I feel much better about her getting paid. Frankly, I think she should have got a lot more than Tripp.
"The lawsuit was so old that the original judge died while it was pending. A second judge accepted the settlement and closed the case Oct. 30."
It's been 9 months and I don't even have everybody served yet. Hmmmm ....
