I smashed my fax machine

Late yesterday I'd gotten a VM from Ms. Castro, Pacific Bell, requesting I call her.

So I called her today, and she asked me to fax the first 5 pages of my complaint so that she'll know what she's looking for.

In between thunderstorms I managed to prepare and print a cover letter, and then tried to fax those 6 pages. Since I use faxaway.com for about 95% of my faxes, I rarely use the machine. I bought it just last year, but a few months ago it started acting up when faxing multiple pages.

After about 25 minutes of trying to get that fax out, and thinking about how many times I've faxed and mailed and called Pacific Bell in 97 about the check they deposited but never credited, and how many times I've called and mailed last year, and now AGAIN, well, the fax machine was the closest thing there and I finally lost it.

I whacked it with my fist and the receiver until the LCD went blank. It was dead. It would never give me trouble again.

Overwhelming frustration.

People abuse their spouses, kids and pets, it's the source of road rage all the way to murder and suicide.

When all else fails: murder - suicide

Feeling abused and without any power whatsover.

Knowing that you just can't get to the people whose faces you'd like to take off.

Good thing it was just a fax machine.

Below is the cover letter to Ms. Castro, I hope the first 3 pages of my Complaint are sufficient for her to locate it.

It'll probably be about a week until UPS delivers the new fax/printer.

July 30, 2003 – cover plus 5 pages of Complaint

Re: CIV-03-525-PCT-RCB

Ms. Castro:

Attached are the first 5 pages of my complaint, as per your request, so that you know what to look for.

According to the USPS, the 66 page Complaint, the Request for Waiver of Service, 2 Waivers, and the SASE were received on 4/28/03 at 1:30 PM.

Please let me know whether Pacific Bell has received my complaint and if yes, who is in possession of the complaint now.

Thank you,

Christine Baker
